CLASS OVERVIEW

I’ve been a certified Pilates instructor for nearly ten years teaching in luxury studios across the country and found that somethings didn’t look quite right. Many studios sell the concept that Pilates should be for everyone; everyone who can afford it. Where does that leave the rest of the population? I’ve had a passion to bring Pilates and other high quality services to communities who wouldn’t normally have access to it and that’s why MyoTherapy studio exists. Health and wellness should be inclusive, not exclusive.

Mat Pilates

Mat Pilates is the foundation for all Pilates movements. Joseph Pilates curated a catalog of exercises (originally called Contrology) that was designed to give people a low impact option. Pilates intentionally focuses on better body awareness, postural alignment, a sense of focus and control, and precision in movement. Mat Pilates classes at MyoTherapy adhere to Joseph’s origin of movement while brining a contemporary approach to functional movement. You’ll receive a full body workout and might even grow a few inches taller (no joke). All props are included in your class. Socks are required for class.

Restorative Stretch

Looking for a cool down after your previous workout? Or just need a moment just to slow down? Try this class which will incorporate classical stretches from Joseph Pilates catalog of movement while using various props for other non-classical stretches. Use this class as a cool down from your day or as a way to develop better mobility while working on proper form and body mechanics. Class will intentionally move slower to provide relief for the central nervous system yet bring a sense of rejuvenation to the body! All props are included in your class Socks are required for class.

Private and duet training is a great opportunity to receive personal attention to details on form and alignment to hone in on your skills with particular Pilates exercises. Private and duet sessions also utilize the Pilate EXO chair during sessions. EXO chair is a great piece of equipment that mimics the reformer in a more challenging way.
